WELCOME

The SYRA is now in its 18th month.  Without question, it has been an eventful year-and-a-half for the association with no shortage of meaningful accomplishments.

The second Annual General Meeting in Monaco in September was well attended.  Members reaffirmed that the mission crafted in May of 2011 was, and still reamins, valid.  "Enhancing the enjoyment of superyacht owners through safe sailing and fair racing" is what the organization is all about and should be what the association continues to strive for.

The issues outlined in the AGM agenda along with supporting material in the various exhibits (member meetings page) provide a meaningful summary of the topics and discussion points which made for a very productive meeting.

This meeting package produces a frank assessment on where things stand, where the members propose the focus should be in the last half of this second year of the association, and some thoughts on the long term.

We were able to answer the important question on whether there is still meaningful work to be done.  The answer was an unequivocal yes.  A second, important question was how we get the work done - efficiently and with the desired results.  Among the items voted on was a bold new membership initiative (voting items), which has already should encouraging early returns.  We are grateful for the continued support of our charter members and welcome our new members.

The SYRA will continue to work closely with superyacht Regatta Organizers and the entire membership to enhance safe sailing and fair racing going forward.
